The aroma is rather bitter, very strong hops. Tasting it is rather a surprise. It starts with a light bitter hops, transitions to almost a lightly roasted almond before eventually melting into a sweeter, honey after taste. The after taste does not last too long, though for a light beer, stays for some time.
The mouth feels the bubbles, but they are rather fine and smooth. For a light (6.5%) blonde beer, Gauloise has a medium-heavy body, actually heavier than I might expect.
